The Odd Event Overlay is an interior interaction shell that appears for unusual case events, where a dialogue board, evidence anchors, and a case readout let the player investigate the weirdness.

Triggers

An odd-case event drops this overlay over the current interior, surfacing a dialogue board, evidence anchors, and a case readout. It is event-driven rather than tied to a single building category.

Controls

The Primary station is the dialogue board, the Support station pins evidence, and the Service station presents the case readout; lead motes follow the lower lane. Tapping the dialogue board advances the conversation and each evidence pin locks a clue.

Outcomes

Resolving the case arms a one-off reward or narrative buff through the case readout; leaving it open simply defers the case, with no loss and a clean reopen.

Accessibility

A single tap auto-resolves the case at the fair baseline outcome, so the dialogue timing is never required. The case board, evidence pins, and dialogue slate stay distinct when entered.

Related buildings

The overlay is not bound to one building category; it can appear over any interior when an odd-case event fires, layering its case board on top of the host shell.

Screenshots & static variants

The overlay re-skins with the host building era material, but the case board, evidence pins, and dialogue slate keep their layout, so one capture is representative.

Version history

Added with the interior interaction backfill alongside the odd-case event core; no later mechanic changes recorded.
