Overview

The Lumber Yard is an industrial building of the Bronze Age that drives production: it turns raw materials and effort into the goods, materials, and wealth that the rest of the city is built on.

As a Industrial structure, the Lumber Yard belongs to the industrial side of the city. Introduced in the Bronze Age, as metal and trade take hold.

Gameplay

Build cost. Raising the Lumber Yard costs 40 Stone and 10 Gold. Plan the spend against your current stockpiles before you commit the plot.

Footprint. It occupies a 2x1 plot, so leave room on the map before you place it.

Height. The Lumber Yard is a single-floor building, which keeps its layout simple but makes the surrounding road and service network carry more of the planning weight.

Output. Once built it produces 6 Wood each turn, feeding Wood into your economy.

Upkeep. It draws 0.3 Food in upkeep every turn whether or not it is producing, so weigh the running cost against the benefit.

Stockpile. The Lumber Yard adds buffer capacity to the city — it can hold 200 Wood. That headroom smooths supply across the road network so a surplus in one turn is not wasted and a shortfall is cushioned.
