Overview
The Water Sawmill is an industrial building of the Classical Age that drives production: it turns raw materials and effort into the goods, materials, and wealth that the rest of the city is built on.
As a Industrial structure, the Water Sawmill belongs to the industrial side of the city. Introduced in the Classical Age, alongside marble and law.
Gameplay
Build cost. Raising the Water Sawmill costs 80 Stone and 30 Gold. Plan the spend against your current stockpiles before you commit the plot.
Footprint. It occupies a 2x1 plot, so leave room on the map before you place it.
Height. The Water Sawmill is a single-floor building, which keeps its layout simple but makes the surrounding road and service network carry more of the planning weight.
Output. Once built it produces 12 Wood each turn, feeding Wood into your economy.
Upkeep. It draws 0.5 Food in upkeep every turn whether or not it is producing, so weigh the running cost against the benefit.
