How can we help?
Answers to the questions players ask most. For how the game works, see How to Play and the wiki.
Frequently asked questions
Is Erapolis really free?
Yes. The whole game, from the first campfire to the Space Elevator, is free. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no premium currency, no timers and no energy.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Erapolis plays fully offline, anywhere. It never connects to a server while you play.
Where are my cities saved?
On your device, in the app's own storage. The game saves automatically as you play and when you leave the app. There is no account and no cloud copy kept by us.
How do I move my cities to a new iPhone or iPad?
Your cities travel with your device backup. If you set up a new device from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one, your cities come along with the app. Erapolis has no account to sign in to, so a fresh install on a new device starts empty.
I deleted the app. Can I get my cities back?
Deleting the app deletes its saves from the device. They can only come back if you restore a device backup made before you deleted it. To remove a single city, swipe it left in the Cities list.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 or later.
Is it accessible?
Yes. Erapolis supports VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion, light and dark appearance, and haptics. Sound effects, music, haptics and the day-and-night cycle can each be turned off in Settings.
How do my houses get bigger?
Each house climbs a level for every service that covers it, in order: water, then faith, then a market, and so on. Tap a house to see what it needs next. The How to Play guide has the full ladder.
Why can't I build the wonder yet?
Each wonder can only be raised in its own age, once, and only after your population reaches its target (45 people for the first one). See every requirement on the Ages & Buildings page.
A building is in ruins. What now?
Fires and floods can leave a building in ruins. Tap it to repair it for part of its original cost. A Watch House nearby prevents fires, and paying for a levee when the water rises saves buildings on the shore.
What happens when I finish?
Completing the Space Elevator ends your city's story with a summary of its history, and you can keep building as long as you like. Start a new city any time from the Cities list.
Does Erapolis collect any data?
No. See the privacy policy.
Still stuck?
A few things fix most problems:
- Make sure your device runs iOS 26 or later and Erapolis is up to date in the App Store.
- Close the app fully (swipe it away in the app switcher) and open it again. Your city is saved automatically.
