Overview

The Civic Bastion is an infrastructure building of the Renaissance that holds the city together: it provides the services, storage, defence, or power that let everything around it run.

As a Infrastructure structure, the Civic Bastion belongs to the infrastructure side of the city. Introduced in the Renaissance, an age of banks and bold ideas.

Gameplay

Build cost. Raising the Civic Bastion costs 520 Stone and 320 Gold. Plan the spend against your current stockpiles before you commit the plot.

Footprint. It occupies a 2x2 plot, so leave room on the map before you place it.

Height. The Civic Bastion is a single-floor building, which keeps its layout simple but makes the surrounding road and service network carry more of the planning weight.

Output. Once built it produces 6 Happiness and 0.5 Knowledge each turn, feeding Happiness and Knowledge into your economy.

Upkeep. It draws 2 Gold in upkeep every turn whether or not it is producing, so weigh the running cost against the benefit.
