Overview

The Iron Foundry is an industrial building of the Medieval Era that drives production: it turns raw materials and effort into the goods, materials, and wealth that the rest of the city is built on.

As a Industrial structure, the Iron Foundry belongs to the industrial side of the city. Introduced in the Medieval Era, the age of castles and guilds.

Gameplay

Build cost. Raising the Iron Foundry costs 220 Stone and 120 Gold. Plan the spend against your current stockpiles before you commit the plot.

Footprint. It occupies a 2x2 plot, so leave room on the map before you place it.

Height. The Iron Foundry can rise to 2 floors, so its value is not only the footprint on the street but the vertical capacity you can stack above it.

Output. Once built it produces 6 Stone and 3.2 Gold each turn, feeding Gold and Stone into your economy.

Inputs. Each turn it consumes 2 Stone (Stone), so keep a supplier in range or its production stalls when the input runs dry.

Upkeep. It draws 4 Wood in upkeep every turn whether or not it is producing, so weigh the running cost against the benefit.
