Overview

The Canal Works is an infrastructure building of the Renaissance that holds the city together: it provides the services, storage, defence, or power that let everything around it run.

As a Infrastructure structure, the Canal Works belongs to the infrastructure side of the city. Introduced in the Renaissance, an age of banks and bold ideas.

Gameplay

Build cost. Raising the Canal Works costs 400 Stone. Plan the spend against your current stockpiles before you commit the plot.

Footprint. It occupies a 4x1 plot, so leave room on the map before you place it.

Height. The Canal Works is a single-floor building, which keeps its layout simple but makes the surrounding road and service network carry more of the planning weight.

Output. Once built it produces 12 Food and 10 Happiness each turn, feeding Food and Happiness into your economy.

Upkeep. It draws 1 Gold in upkeep every turn whether or not it is producing, so weigh the running cost against the benefit.
