Overview

Tavern is a leisure venue of the Medieval Era that draws crowds and lifts the mood of the neighbourhood it serves.

It belongs to the mid game, as districts begin to specialise, so placing one signals that the district around it is ready to grow past simple subsistence.

Leisure buildings like Tavern pay off in happiness rather than raw goods, so a single well-placed one can lift an entire residential cluster.

Gameplay

The value of Tavern is in the Gold and Happiness it returns to the city; route that output toward the districts that are starved of it rather than the ones already satisfied.

Site Tavern where foot traffic already flows — between housing and the centre of the district — so the crowds it draws cost the city the least travel time.

Watch upkeep as the city scales: when a newer tier unlocks, retiring an older Tavern in favour of it can free both the plot and the running cost for something denser.

Interior & support

Open Tavern through the Venue view to run the floor: how you set the programme, pacing, and crowd flow decides whether visitors leave delighted or merely served.

Achievements & highscores

Happiness underpins both progression gates and the city-rating highscore, and a well-run Tavern is one of the clearest ways to raise it across a district.
