Overview
The Trading Post is a commercial building of the Stone Age that powers trade: it draws custom and turns the flow of goods and people into gold and prosperity for the treasury.
As a Commercial structure, the Trading Post belongs to the commercial side of the city. Available from the Stone Age — one of the city's earliest works.
Gameplay
Build cost. Raising the Trading Post costs 55 Wood and 30 Stone. Plan the spend against your current stockpiles before you commit the plot.
Footprint. It occupies a 2x1 plot, so leave room on the map before you place it.
Height. The Trading Post is a single-floor building, which keeps its layout simple but makes the surrounding road and service network carry more of the planning weight.
Output. Once built it produces 0.4 Gold and 0.2 Happiness each turn, feeding Gold and Happiness into your economy.
Upkeep. It draws 0.5 Food in upkeep every turn whether or not it is producing, so weigh the running cost against the benefit.
Stockpile. The Trading Post adds buffer capacity to the city — it can hold 60 Food, 80 Wood, and 60 Stone. That headroom smooths supply across the road network so a surplus in one turn is not wasted and a shortfall is cushioned.

Interior & support
Use the Workshop / Logistics support view for the Trading Post. Its interior support treats the building as a trading floor: stock, service counters, and delivery paths explain why placement near busy routes matters.
