Overview

Disaster events are recoverable negative beats selected from era-scoped event tables. They apply an immediate resource impact and, when mapped to a hazard, also create a visible map problem.

Triggers and outcomes

EventEngine rolls a disaster from the current era table using the city's difficulty chance. Wildfire and flood seed spatial hazards; non-spatial disasters remain flat resource or morale impacts.

Related buildings, resources, and achievements include Wood, Food, Gold, Energy, Population, Happiness, threatened buildings, recovery achievements, and Chronicle entries that record a survived disaster.

Accessibility and screenshots

Screenshots are relevant when a disaster creates a spatial hazard; otherwise event toast and infobox evidence are enough. Event impact text must name the affected resources and not depend on animation, sound, or colour.
